Orlando Pirates gunning for MTN8 title after quarter-final victory, says Abdeslam Ouaddou

Debutant Oswin Appollis opened the scoring against his former teaam after 13 minutes at the Orlando Stadium.

Patrick Maswanganyi then sealed the result with his goal from the penalty spot, won by Appollis, with 35 minutes on the clock.

Pirates are the competition holders having won the MTN8 for the past three seasons under former boss Jose Riveiro.

Ouaddou praised the Man of the Match and the players around him for allowing Appollis to shine.

The coach told SuperSport after the game: "I'm happy for him. You know Appollis for a long time.

"When he is surrounded with good players you can even see the best of him, but not only him.

“I want to congratulate all my boys, he took the man of the match because of the collective.”

Ouaddou added that his side are only getting started after their first victory of the new campaign.

"I think it's a big victory for us but it's not finish. We have to go through and the target is to win the MTN8," he said.

"Yes, with Orlando Pirates winning every cup- we know it's not easy but we will give our best to try and win it."

"Definitely we have to win it. It will not be easy but we will give our best to win it."
