Pitso Dladla hails 'never-die attitude' as Durban City edge TS Galaxy to life Nedbank Cup

City came from a goal down at the New Peter Mokaba Stadium to win the tie 2-1 after the Rockets opened the scoring through a Jean Lwamba Lubumba own goal in the 43rd minute.

Mfanafuthi Mkhize equalised in the 58th minute before Lubumba secured the winner with his goal in the correct net in the 71st minute.

Speaking after the game, a delighted Dladla lauded everyone at the club who played a part in this title success.

He told SuperSport: "Congratulations to the players; we've got a group of players that is resilient. A group of players that's got a never-die attitude.

"For me, it's just to thank them. We've been through tough games and we had that belief that we'll do it.

"I also want to thank the technical team, coach Ashraf Hendricks, coach Rowen Fernandez, our conditioning guys – Michael, Amo. Our medical team, Alex, everybody. Our kit manager Zola, our logistics manager Manzini. All of them.

"Mamzo at the training grounds, our ground man Lunga, everyone contributed.

"I know our Chairman, GM, they will thank the other partners because they also supported us through this journey, word of encouragement, resources being injected in this project.

"But, at the end of the day, we wouldn't have made it if our supporters were not here.

“I'm looking there [at the supporters in the stands], I feel like I'm in Chatsworth Stadium.”
