The Limpopo based team begin their season by hosting rivals Magesi on Saturday, who defeated City in their last league clash in February.
A tough trip to face Kaizer Chiefs follows, but Rise and Shine will be confident after remaining unbeaten in their last three matches against the Soweto giants.
City then travel to face new side Siwelele FC in Tshwane before returning home to face the newly promoted Durban City.
The month of August ends with a tough clash against Marumo Gallants, who Polokwane took four points from during the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season.
Rise And Shine will have to do without talisman winger Oswin Appollis who joined Orlando Pirates last month and claimed the Man of the Match award against his former club in their MTN8 quarter final.
"He (Appollis) left for a bigger team, and all I can do is wish him well," said Polokwane City coach Phuthi Mohafe after the 2-0 defeat.
"I am feeling the pinch, he left a big hole in my team and for me, and for us to replace him, it's going to take some time."
The team has added relatively unknown prospects from the National First Division, signing four players from Pretoria Callies during the off-season.
"We still have injuries in the club, we have injuries to Thabang Matuludi, (Tlou) Nkwe, and (Hlayisi) Chauke," added the coach.
"They are still struggling to recover, but we hope that players like Matuludi will be back soon."
