SuperSport United Season Review: Matsantsantsa survive relegation scare after worst PSL season
SuperSport United had to rally to avoid competing in the relegation playoffs following their worst campaign in the PSL topflight.
Orlando Pirates are defending champions, having beaten Stellenbosch 3-1 in the 2024 final.
They will once again be in the competition, having finished in second place on the 2024/25 Betway Premiership standings, behind perennial winners Mamelodi Sundowns.
Also in the top-eight competition are in Stellies, Sekhukhune United, TS Galaxy, AmaZulu, Polokwane City and Richards Bay.
The league will kick off the following week on August 8, although the Premier Soccer League are yet to publish the upcoming fixtures.
The Motsepe Foundational Championship, meanwhile, gets underway on August 22, and the DStv Diski Challenge restarts on September 6.
