PSG put seven past hapless Bayer Leverkusen in Champions League rout

PSG quickly asserted dominance with a goal in the seventh minute. After Nuno Mendes' shot was deflected for a corner, he played a short pass and delivered a pinpoint cross, which Willian Pacho headed in for his maiden PSG goal.

Bayer Leverkusen, driven by Claudio Echeverri's dynamism, remained a threat. Echeverri's pressure forced Ilya Zabarnyi into a handball, conceding a penalty, but Alejandro Grimaldo's effort struck the post.

The hosts' situation worsened when Robert Andrich was sent off for elbowing Desire Doue in the face. However, five minutes later, Zabarnyi fouled Christian Kofane, earning a red card and conceding another penalty, which Aleix García calmly converted into the bottom corner.

PSG regained the lead three minutes later through a slick move. Doue linked up with Khvicha Kvaratskhelia before steering a precise shot beyond Mark Flekken's reach. Three minutes later, Kvaratskhelia added another, his blocked shot followed by a second effort that ricocheted off both posts and went in.

Before halftime, PSG struck again. Doue carved out space on the edge of the box and curled a shot into the bottom corner. Five minutes after the break, Vitinha threaded a pass to Nuno Mendes, who beat Flekken despite the goalkeeper's touch.

Garcia offered Leverkusen a brief hope with a stunning long-range strike into the top corner, but PSG responded swiftly. Bradley Barcola unselfishly set up Ousmane Dembele, the returning Ballon d'Or winner, to score just three minutes after coming off the bench.

Vitinha then put the cherry on top of a superlative performance with a long-range strike, as PSG emphatically recorded a fifth consecutive UCL victory for the season.
