Report: Bayern Munich launch bid to sway Nico Williams' Barcelona move

The German giants have tabled a lucrative offer, reportedly worth 12 million euros annually, according to Sky Sport. This includes a 10-million-euro base salary plus an additional 2 million euros in bonuses, as revealed by L’Equipe.

Despite the hefty proposal, Bayern are well aware that Williams' heart is set on a move to Barcelona.

Sources close to the player indicate that no active discussions are taking place between Williams and Bayern Munich.

The 23-year-old Spanish international has his sights firmly fixed on wearing the iconic blue and red of Barcelona at the Spotify Camp Nou. “Nicholas has always been clear about his dream to play for the Blaugrana,” a source close to the negotiations said, as reported by Sky Sport.

Barcelona, meanwhile, are working to finalise the transfer by triggering Williams' release clause, valued at 58 million euros plus inflation adjustments.

The Catalan club aim to complete the deal by the end of the week, but the player’s insistence on guarantees regarding his registration with La Liga has caused delays.

“The paperwork and financial assurances need to be watertight,” a Barcelona insider has said, highlighting the complexities of the transfer.

As the saga unfolds, Athletic Bilbao are preparing to return to pre-season training on 9 July. Fans and the club alike are eager for clarity on Nicholas Williams Arthuer’s future before the team kicks off their preparations. “We want this resolved quickly so we can focus on the season ahead,” an Athletic Bilbao spokesperson has said.
