Thomas Frank excited to work with 'very talented' Tottenham squad
New Tottenham boss Thomas Frank is eager to take on the challenges of the new Premier League campaign, after signing a contract that runs until 2028.
The 28-year-old DR Congo international, who has scored 49 goals since joining Brentford in 2021, enjoyed a productive 2024/25 season with 12 goals and three assists in the league.
Wissa remains under contract until June 2026, with the club holding an option to extend. Brentford value the player at 50 million pounds and are in a strong negotiating position due to his contract situation.
The club is reluctant to sell and is actively looking to extend his deal to protect their asset.
Tottenham Hotspur, managed by Wissa's former boss Thomas Frank, have listed him as a summer target, while Arsenal are also monitoring the forward as they weigh up options to strengthen their striker depth. However, neither club has submitted a formal offer at this stage.
Nottingham Forest, who had a 22m-pound bid rejected in January, remain keen and could return with a fresh approach, particularly if Taiwo Awoniyi departs. Forest view Wissa as a versatile addition who could challenge Chris Wood for a starting role.
Fenerbahce and Galatasaray have also joined the race. Both Turkish sides are prepared to offer around 30-32 million euros, significantly below Brentford's asking price.
Fenerbahce are eager to add firepower, while Galatasaray see Wissa as an alternative if their pursuit of Victor Osimhen falls through.
