Ange Postecoglou eyes Europa League glory amid Tottenham's struggles
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has challenged his players to "make an impact" by winning the Europa League, even as uncertainty hangs over his future at the club.
The 22-year-old, who scored 12 goals and provided 2 assists in 35 Premier League appearances this season, is expected to leave Ipswich after their relegation triggered a 30-million-pound release clause in his contract.
Delap is drawing strong interest from both clubs, with Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim eager to reinforce his attacking line.
United had reportedly been Delap's initial preference, and the striker was recently linked with a potential 92.5-million-pound double deal involving Wolves' Matheus Cunha.
However, their hopes of securing his signature may hinge on the outcome of the Europa League final against Tottenham next Wednesday, where Champions League qualification is on the line.
Chelsea, meanwhile, hold a significant advantage. With Champions League football all but secured and only two games remaining, the Blues can offer Delap top-level European competition and a clearer route to first-team football.
Manager Enzo Maresca, who worked with Delap during their time at Manchester City's academy, is a key factor in Chelsea's pursuit, especially given the club's limited options at centre-forward, with Nicolas Jackson currently their sole senior striker.
The transfer window opens on 1 June, and Delap is widely expected to be one of the earliest deals concluded - though which shirt he'll be wearing next season remains to be seen.
