According to Il Corriere dello Sport, negotiations initially focused on a potential transfer for Juventus winger Nicolas Gonzalez could now expand to include Kessie. "His agents have offered him to the Serie A giants," the outlet reported, highlighting Kessie's availability as Al-Ahli reportedly no longer view him as central to their plans, despite his role as club captain.

Kessie's history in Italy makes him an attractive prospect. He first rose to prominence at Atalanta, earning a move to AC Milan in 2017. His powerful performances helped the Rossoneri clinch the 2021/22 Scudetto before he departed for Barcelona on a free transfer.

A lackluster spell in Spain led to his 2023 move to Al-Ahli, where he has since captained the AFC Champions League winners.
