According to Teamtalk, the 22-year-old has already held conversations with Manchester United and will meet Chelsea following his talks with the Tyneside club.
Delap has been a standout performer in a disappointing season for the The Tractor Boys, top scoring with 12 goals whilst providing two assists.
However, his exploits were in vain, as Ipswich Town's relegation to the Championship was confirmed in late April following a 3-0 defeat against Delap's suitors, Newcastle United.
The England striker reportedly prefers a return to the north west of the country, which indicates that Manchester United may be in the driving seat for his signature this summer.
He had previously played for Manchester City's youth teams, including the Under-21s, where he scored 35 goals in 36 matches before being snapped up by the Cityzens.
Newcastle will be desperate to add him to their roster, with English forward Callum Wilson expected to leave this summer, leaving Sweden star Aleksander Isak as the only proven striker in the squad.
Any club that he agrees to sign for will reportedly have to trigger a £30m release clause.
