Rotation key as Pep Guardiola prepares for tough 21-day Man City schedule

City still have five Premier League matches left, an FA Cup final to prepare for, and the possibility of completing another domestic treble. All of it will be squeezed into an intense 21-day spell that will test depth, fitness, and focus.

After rotating heavily in the FA Cup semi-final win over Southampton, Guardiola made it clear that no player can be left out of the picture.

"That's why I need them," he said when asked about the packed schedule.

"With this amount of games every three days with the same players will not be possible. We need the squad. It doesn't matter if someone is better or worse, we will need everyone."

He stressed that managing minutes and using substitutions effectively will be crucial.

"Everybody has to make a step forward. I will demand more and more. This is what we have to do," he added.

At Wembley, City made eight changes to the starting line-up, with experienced defenders John Stones and Nathan Aké stepping in seamlessly. Guardiola praised their impact and the squad's overall attitude.

"They have a lot of confidence. Look at John and Nathan, they are extraordinary. We know each other so well, I know they will be there," he said.

He also highlighted Matheus Nunes, saying: "He is becoming one of the best right-backs in the world, defensively and going forward. That is what we need."

With little time between matches, Guardiola has also prioritised recovery. He has given his players three days off before they return to training, a method he says he has learned to value during his time in England.

"I learned that having days off makes the team play better. It's not about training more, it's about arriving fresh," he explained.

City's run-in includes a trip to Everton, a home match against Brentford, an FA Cup final clash with Chelsea, and an away fixture at Bournemouth.
