Sebastian Hoeness backs 'buzzing' Stuttgart to overturn Porto deficit

Sebastian Hoeness backs 'buzzing' Stuttgart to overturn Porto deficit

Speaking before the second leg at Estadio do Dragao tonight, Hoeness confirmed Leweling picked up a minor issue in the recent match against RB Leipzig.

"Jamie has a small problem from the Leipzig game, but he will train today," Hoeness said. "Josha Vagnoman is back with the squad, which is a boost for us."

Despite trailing 2-1 on aggregate, Hoeness made it clear Stuttgart are embracing the challenge rather than fearing it.

"It's not business as usual," he explained. "Reaching the round of 16 in the Europa League would be something special for this club. You can feel a real buzz around the camp."

The Stuttgart boss pointed to how tight the first leg was and suggested the pressure may actually sit with Porto.

"Everyone saw how close that game was. Porto might have more to lose in this situation," he said. "We're only one goal behind. That's nothing in a 90-minute match."

Hoeness also outlined exactly what he expects from his players in Portugal.

"We have to be clean in our play, smart in our decisions, and show real passion," he added. "Those are the qualities you need on a night like this."
