Newcastle have completed the signing of Matias Fernandez-Pardo from Lille for an initial fee of 51.4 million pounds, with the 21-year-old committing his future to a long-term contract.
Senegal star Ibrahim Mbaye joins Aston Villa from PSG for big fee
The 18-year-old arrives in England after a breakthrough campaign in which he played a role in PSG's success on the domestic and European stage, while also making his mark for Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Mbaye played all four of the Teranga Lions' matches at the tournament and scored in their 3-1 defeat to France. The goal saw him become the youngest African player to score at a men's World Cup, finding the net at the age of 18 years and 143 days.
His rise has been rapid. Born in France, Mbaye came through the PSG academy after joining from FC Versailles 78 in 2018 and made his senior debut in August 2024 at just 16.
He initially represented France at youth level but switched his international allegiance to Senegal in 2025 through his father's eligibility. He has since earned 15 senior caps for the African champions.
At club level, Mbaye made 31 appearances for PSG last season, scoring three goals and providing two assists as the French giants retained the Ligue 1 title and continued their dominance in Europe.
Villa have also completed the signing of English defender Taylor Harwood-Bellis from Southampton. The 24-year-old centre-back arrives for an initial 25 million pounds, with a further 5 million pounds potentially payable in add-ons.
