Stellenbosch announce Siviwe Nkwali arrival from Cape Town Spurs

The talented 20-year-old joins Stellies after suffering relegation with the Motsepe Foundation Championship side.

Nkwali is a former Spurs youth team player, who made his step up to the senior squad in the 2023/24 season.

He made 15 appearances in his first campaign but was largely sidelined under Ernst Middendorp last term and signed a pre-contract with Stellenbosch six months prior to the end of his contract.

A Stellies statement read: "Stellenbosch FC is delighted to announce that the club has acquired the services of defender Siviwe Nkwali on a long-term contract.

"The 20-year-old, who was most recently on the books of Cape Town Spurs, arrives on the back of a successful year in which he helped South Africa win the U-20 CAF Africa Cup of Nations for the first time."

A delighted Nkwali added: "I'm very happy to be here and grateful to Stellenbosch FC for giving me an opportunity to once again showcase my talents.

"Stellenbosch has been a top-three club in the past few seasons, and I hope to help the team continue to compete in the league and push for more silverware.

"I will put in 110% for the team and fight for this badge, and I can’t wait for the season to get started."
