Talented teenage left-back Thato Sibiya promoted to Mamelodi Sundowns first team

The 19-year-old South Africa under 20 international transitioned to the senior set-up after staring for the Brazilians' youth and DStv Diski Challenge teams.

He has already been training with the first team and has now signed his first professional contract.

"Congratulations to our client, Thato Sibiya, who has signed his first professional contract with Mamelodi Sundowns FC & been officially promoted to the First Team.

"Having come through the Sundowns Academy & proven himself as a standout performer in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC), Thato’s journey reflects hard work, humility & perseverance. A massive milestone in a promising career – we’re proud to stand alongside you every step of the way," posted the player's agency Jozi Talent.

Sibiya will have a chance to make his senior debut when Sundowns face Orlando Pirates in the Betway Premiership this weekend.
