Bayern Munich win record 33rd Bundesliga title after Leverkusen drop points
Bayern Munich were officially crowned Bundesliga champions for the 33rd time on Sunday, following Bayer Leverkusen's 2-2 draw against SC Freiburg.
The 24-year-old Nigerian frontman excelled in his first season for the Bundesliga club, scoring 21 goals and providing 10 assist in 34 games in all competitions.
He has managed a healthy 11 goals and two assists in 27 games this season but hasn't been immune from criticism, and Leverkusen could be open to parting ways with the striker for around £40million should an offer materialise.
Spurs though may only look to complete any kind of deal once the fate of current head coach Ange Postecoglou is determined.
The Australian may be on the verge of leading his side to the Europa League final, but even if they manage to win a trophy, it remains to be seen if Postecoglou will be retained as head coach.
Nigeriasoccernet reported: "Tottenham Hotspur is now considering intensifying their pursuit of the player.
"Sources indicate that Spurs have been made aware of the striker's potential availability and, having previously identified him as a target less than a year ago, are growing increasingly optimistic that he will be permitted to seek a new opportunity, particularly if Bayer Leverkusen's head coach, Xabi Alonso, departs from his managerial position."
