TS Galaxy star Khulumani Ndamane turns Kaizer Chiefs exit into a success story

TS Galaxy star Khulumani Ndamane turns Kaizer Chiefs exit into a success story

The 21-year-old joined the Rockets at the start of last season after parting ways with Amakhosi, where he featured briefly in the DStv Diski Challenge (DDC). What began as a setback quickly turned into a story of transformation for the lanky defender.

Since arriving in Mpumalanga, Ndamane has been able to make a huge impact at the club with the mentoring of coach Adnan Beganovic. He has made over 30 appearances in all competitions and earned his first call-up to Bafana Bafana.

He was part of the historic national team squad that recently secured qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Speaking at Galaxy's media open day at Wits Sturrock Park ahead of their Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinal against Golden Arrows, Ndamane said he holds no bitterness about his time at Chiefs.

"Leaving Kaizer Chiefs was a blessing in disguise," he said.

"At big clubs, expectations are very high and there's little room for mistakes. At Galaxy, young players are given space to grow, make errors, and learn — that's helped me mature and improve my game."

Ndamane added that his focus is now on helping Galaxy reach new heights.

"I wish to win my first trophy here at Galaxy. There are rumours I might leave next season, but winning the Carling Knockout would mean a lot to me and the club," he concluded.

TS Galaxy will face Golden Arrows at the King Zwelithini Stadium in Durban on Sunday as they chase a spot in the semifinals.
