Tunisia turn to former Ivory Coast coach Sabri Lamouchi to lead World Cup campaign

The former Ivory Coast, Rennes, Nottingham Forest and Cardiff head coach replaces sacked Sami Trabelsi, who was removed from his post following Tunisia's Africa Cup of Nations last 16 defeat to Mali.

Lamouchi was in charge of the Ivory Coast at the 2014 World Cup and joins the Carthage Eagles after a spell with Saudi First Division League side Al-Diraiyah FC

He has signed a two-year contract until 2028.

“The Tunisian football federation has announced that it has signed coach Sabri Lamouchi to take charge of the national team until July 31, 2028,” the Tunisian FA said in a statement.

Tunisia have been drawn in Group F at this year's World Cup alongside the Netherlands, Japan and a European play-off winner.
