Last‑minute fightback seals PSG Super Cup win over Marseille

"When you reach a final, emotions run high - the spirit of this team is different. We keep fighting until the last minute," Enrique said, reflecting on his team's resilience.

PSG fell behind late to an own goal from Willian Pacho but found a stoppage-time equaliser through Goncalo Ramos, forcing penalties.

Enrique also highlighted the importance of preparation and the role of luck in such high-pressure situations. "Luck sometimes plays its part, but the most important thing is that we prepare our goalkeepers for penalties. Our keeper had a fantastic game," he added, referring to Lucas Chevalier, who saved two penalties to secure the win.

The match had seen PSG take an early lead through Ousmane Dembele, only for Mason Greenwood to level from the spot before Marseille briefly went ahead.

Enrique admitted that despite the result, Marseille had periods of control. "We started well, but in the end, OM played very well - I believe they played better than us, though I still need to analyze the game carefully," he said.

Enrique also praised the opposing coach. "I must congratulate Roberto De Zerbi; he is a very good coach, even if everyone criticizes him. His work is impressive," he added, showing respect for Marseille's efforts.

The victory gave PSG their 14th Trophee des Champions and their first trophy of 2026, highlighting Enrique's ability to guide his team through tense, high-pressure encounters.
