Two-time major winner Dustin Johnson to miss The Open for first time since 2009
Two-time major champion Dustin Johnson will miss the Open Championship for the first time since his debut in 2009 after withdrawing from final qualifying.

The American, who joined LIV in June 2022 on a deal reportedly worth over $100 million, will return as captain of 4 Aces GC in 2026, according to golf site Flushing It. Terms of the new contract have not been disclosed.
Johnson, winner of the 2016 US Open and 2020 Masters, had a challenging season, finishing 14th in the individual race and seeing 4 Aces GC place seventh in the team competition.
His world ranking has fallen to 595th, following missed cuts at the US Open, PGA Championship, and earlier majors, before a T23 at the Open Championship showed signs of improvement.
There has been speculation that Johnson and some of the other early LIV signings, like Brooks Koepka, are considering a PGA Tour return once their contracts expire in a bid to revive their flagging fortunes, though a one-year waiting period currently applies.
Like Johnson, Koepka reached the weekend in just one major this year, tying for 12th at the US Open.
