New LIV Golf signing Victor Perez opens up on why he left the PGA Tour
French golfer Victor Perez, who joined LIV Golf last month, will compete with The Cleeks team in 2026.

A key point of discussion is how LIV Golf structures its 54-player league.
Since its launch in June 2022, LIV Golf has not been granted world ranking points, and only six of its players are in the top 100 based on points earned in majors or on the Asian and European Tours.
LIV's first attempt to join the OWGR system was rejected in October 2023. A new application was submitted last summer under Scott O'Neil, the CEO who succeeded Greg Norman.
Immelman, a former Masters champion and current CBS golf analyst, became OWGR chairman in April.
He noted that he speaks frequently with O'Neil, including exchanging messages during his pro-am on Friday at the PNC Championship.
"We've been all working hard together, trying to get answers, trying to figure out what they want to do," said the South African.
"They're trying to figure out how their league is going to be evolving. They've decided to go to 72 holes. They're going to be growing their field a little bit, it appears, from what I've been told, and could possibly want to grow even further.
"It's a very collaborative process right now between Scott and I and our board to figure it out."
Asked whether a decision on world ranking points could be made before LIV Golf's next season kicks off on February 4, Immelman said, "I think there's a chance."
The Saudi-backed circuit, which began with 54-hole events and no cuts, plans to move to 72-hole tournaments for the 2026 season.
World ranking points are crucial for LIV Golf players, as they determine eligibility for the majors, all of which rely on the OWGR for entry criteria.
At present, LIV players can earn ranking points only by competing in the majors themselves or on other tours outside the PGA Tour, which has barred them from participation.
