Abdeslam Ouaddou's emotional message suggests unfinished business at Orlando Pirates

The French-Moroccan mentor appeared to put speculation surrounding his future to rest in an emotional message to his backroom staff following a memorable campaign in which the Buccaneers completed a domestic treble.

Ouaddou's future had been the subject of debate during the season after comments suggesting he would not continue in a role if he felt "tired" were interpreted by some as a possible exit warning. However, his latest remarks indicate he is already planning for the challenges that lie ahead.

In a heartfelt post on his Instagram account, Ouaddou paid tribute to the technical team that helped guide Pirates to one of the club's most successful seasons in recent years.

"To my incredible and dedicated staff, I am writing these few words from the bottom of my heart to send you my most sincere congratulations and my deepest thanks," wrote Ouaddou.

"Thank you for your hard work, your invaluable expertise, your constant dedication, your sacrifices and above all, for your boundless love for football and for our club, Orlando Pirates."

The coach reflected on the significance of the achievement, highlighting how the team ended a lengthy trophy drought while bringing joy to the club's passionate supporters.

"Together, we have put an end to a 14-year drought. Like true pirates, we have sailed every sea and ocean, braving the storms, to finally bring the treasure home," he said.

"This season, we managed to make our wonderful and demanding fans deeply happy. I wholeheartedly hope that we continue to bring this immense joy into their daily lives next season."

While encouraging his staff to enjoy a well-earned break, Ouaddou made it clear that bigger objectives await when preparations resume.

"Disconnect and recharge your batteries because I will need you again to carry out a special mission when we return," he added.

"To go and recover another massive treasure at CAF, without letting anyone steal the one already sitting in our cave."
