Bernard Parker replaces Vuyo Mere as assistant coach at TS Galaxy

Parker, who ended his playing career at TS Galaxy at the end of last season, was initially given a role in the club's DStv Diski Challenge (DDC) team.

The 39-year-old has now been promoted to the senior team as an assistant coach, replacing Vuyo Mere, who is said to have left the club.

Beganovic described Parker as a South African football legend and expressed his hope that he will grow in his new role.

"Bernard Parker is a big name in South African football — a Bafana Bafana player who also played in Europe," Beganovic told FarPost.

"He finished his career at TS Galaxy and worked with the DDC. I think he deserved his chance. So he is the assistant coach with us, and let's see what the future will bring."

Parker was on the bench when TS Galaxy faced Kaizer Chiefs in Polokwane and again more recently during their 2-1 loss to Magesi FC at Seshego Stadium.
