Boks boosted by return of World Cup-winning lock Lood de Jager
Springbok Lood de Jager is set to return to the field in Japan this weekend after seven months off due to hip surgery.

What a journey for the No.9. From the bitter disappointment of missing out on a contract after shining at Paarl Gimnasium, to playing club rugby in Durban and eventually riding his talent all the way to World Cup glory with the Springboks, the time has come for Williams to get his flowers.
It's been known since April that he was heading to the land of the rising sun, but the former Sharks star took to Instagram on Wednesday to finally reveal his new club.
"I am deeply honoured and very excited to be joining the Kobelco Kobe Steelers starting in the 2026-27 season," read his statement in part.
"I've heard a lot of great things about the club and the city of Kobe, and I'm looking forward to meeting all the Steel Mates and playing for Kobe.
"I'm excited for this new challenge, and I'm looking forward to all the time I'll spend as a member. This is going to be an exciting new chapter in my career, and I'm looking forward to every moment."
Williams follows Kurt-Lee Arendse and Ruan Nortje, who also signed deals in Japan for the upcoming season.
The World Cup winner joins a long list of South Africans who have represented the Steelers, including Springboks Lukhanyo Am, Jacque Fourie and Andries Bekker.
