Two-time World Cup-winning lock Eben Etzebeth is set to release an autobiography based on his life experiences and journey in the green and the gold.
The book - titled ‘Unlocked’ in English and ‘Ten Slotte’ in Afrikaans -will hit the shelves in October.
Etzebeth, who is currently in Johannesburg with the rest of the Springbok squad as they prepare to face the Wallabies in the Rugby Championship, confirmed the news on his Instagram account.
"Over the past few months, I've taken time to reflect on my journey, the highs, the lows, the lessons, the people, and the moments that have shaped me on and off the field," he wrote.
"I'm proud to finally announce that I've written a book. Unlocked tells my story, from growing up in Goodwood to my aspirations, the challenges I've faced, and what it really took to wear the green and gold.
"Thank you to everyone who's supported me, this one is for you."
Though he may be reflecting on his career, that doesn't mean Etzebeth is ready to hang up his boots.
"I want to wear that No 4 jersey in the green and gold as many times as possible," the 33-year-old said earlier this month.
"The competitive spirit is still strong in me - I'm not giving up my place. I want to be in the team for as long as possible.”
"I'm not thinking about playing until a certain year," he added. "I'm just going to keep pushing. The key is staying fit and avoiding injury, because recovery is harder as you get older."
