Kaizer Chiefs DDC coach roped into Carling All-Stars team technical team

The All Stars will be led by champion coach Bonginkosi Chonco, assisted by Manqoba Mngqithi, head coach of Golden Arrows, and Khumalo will join Evangelos Vellios of Stellenbosch as part of the coaching team.

The match presents a tough challenge for the All Stars, who will face a Pirates squad fresh off lifting the Carling Knockout Cup, where they defeated Marumo Gallants in extra time at Peter Mokaba Stadium. Relebohile Mofokeng scored the decisive goal in the 105th minute, securing Pirates’ first Carling Knockout title since the 2011/12 season.

Pirates will now aim to achieve a historic feat: winning the Carling Cup in Durban, as the tournament enters its third year. No team has yet claimed the title on this ground, setting the stage for a competitive showdown.

The Carling All Stars boast a squad selected by fans from across all 15 Premier Division clubs, including standout players from the DStv Diski Challenge, ensuring a mix of talent and youthful energy.

The All Stars have dominated the Carling Cup in its first two seasons, defeating the previous year’s Carling Knockout winners—Stellenbosch and Magesi—on both occasions.

With Chiefs’ Khumalo now part of the coaching setup, the All Stars hope to continue their winning streak and challenge Pirates for glory in what promises to be a thrilling encounter for fans.
