Kaizer Chiefs not expected to add new players in January
Kaizer Chiefs are expected to sit out the January transfer window despite it being a period traditionally used by clubs to reinforce their squads.

Motaung delivered the message as part of her New Year address to the Betway Premiership club's supporters and stakeholders, expressing confidence that Amakhosi can still turn their continental fortunes around.
Chiefs endured a challenging start to their CAFCC group-stage campaign in November 2025, suffering a narrow 2-1 defeat away to Egyptian outfit Al Masry before settling for a 1-1 draw at home against another Egyptian powerhouse, Zamalek SC.
Despite the slow start, the Soweto giants remain firmly in the race for qualification from the group.
Reflecting on the journey so far, Motaung highlighted the club's resilience and determination after navigating the preliminary rounds successfully.
"We overcame opponents from Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo in the preliminary stages to proudly take our place in the group stages, where we have already travelled to Egypt to face Al Masry and hosted their compatriots, Zamalek," Motaung was quoted on the club's website.
"We remain determined to progress further when the campaign resumes after AFCON, with home and away fixtures against Zesco United from Zambia, before a return to Egypt to face Zamalek and a home game against Al Masry."
Chiefs' next CAFCC assignment sees them travel to Zambia to face Zesco United on 25 January 2026, before hosting the MTN Super League side at home on 1 February 2026.
The Glamour Boys will then welcome Al Masry to South Africa on 8 February, before concluding their group-stage campaign with an away clash against former African champions Zamalek on 15 February in Egypt.
Amakhosi booked their place in the group stages with an emphatic 3-1 victory over AS Simba of the Democratic Republic of Congo, a performance that underlined their continental credentials.
With crucial fixtures looming, Chiefs will be aiming to inject renewed energy into their campaign and keep their CAF Confederation Cup ambitions alive.
