Maseko focused on improving ahead of crucial Bafana Bafana clash against Czechia

The 22-year-old was an unused substitute as nine-man South Africa slumped to a disappointing 2-0 loss against co-hosts Mexico in the opening match of the tournament last week.

However, the former AEL Limassol loanee has pinpointed the things the team needs to improve on ahead of their important second fixture against the Czech Republic on Thursday.

"As a team, the one thing we have to improve is the intensity of the matches, the intensity of the matches is very high here," said Maseko to journalist Mahlatse Mphahlele.

"It's too much high-speed runs and the altitude [is high]. But yeah. That's one thing that we must do, we need to run extra hard. We need to give, a little bit more effort.

“I recently watched the game of Germany versus Curacao, 7-1 and yeah the intensity was very high, it was high-level, it was top, top, top,” added the former SuperSport United prospect.

"We want to improve as much as it’s a big tournament and there’s very big teams participating but we must showcase our talents. We must not let down the people of South Africa."

The tricky forward will also be hoping to make his ninth appearance for the national team when they face the Czech Republic in Atlanta.
