Matheus Cunha unfazed by expectations as he joins Man Utd's new-look attack

The Brazilian forward arrives from Wolves following a 15-goal Premier League campaign, joining Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo (20 goals) in a double signing worth a combined 135 million pounds. The arrivals come as part of head coach Ruben Amorim's rebuild, after United managed just 44 goals in the league last season - their lowest tally in the modern Premier League era - en route to a disappointing 15th-place finish.

Speaking during the club's U.S. preseason tour in Chicago, Cunha welcomed the challenge of restoring United's attacking threat.

"I really think the pressure on this club is not really pressure," Cunha said. "It's a privilege because this is one of the biggest clubs in the world. I feel like it's a challenge I want at this stage in my career."

Cunha's move comes despite interest from Champions League clubs, including Arsenal, but the 26-year-old made it clear his decision was never in doubt.

"It's my dream club," he said. "When I had the first meeting with Ruben, I felt like they were building something important. Of course, I wanted to be a part of that."

Amorim confirmed that both Cunha and Mbeumo turned down European suitors to join United's project, signaling the club's pulling power remains strong despite recent struggles.

With Amorim now at the helm and two proven goalscorers added to the roster, the pressure will shift to turning promise into consistent performances - and Cunha appears ready to embrace that responsibility head-on.
