Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu backed to score against Galatasaray

Perekli expressed confidence that the in-form striker will find the net in what promises to be a high-profile clash, pointing to his consistency and influence this season.

"He makes good use of his height and utilizes crosses from the wings effectively. He will continue to score goals with the help of players who are compatible with him," Perekli said, via Haber TS.

"Being the top scorer needs to be crowned with a championship title. Otherwise, it remains an individual achievement. I think he will score in this match."

Onuachu has been in exceptional scoring form, registering 21 goals in just 24 appearances, making him the league's leading marksman.

The Nigerian forward, who initially joined Trabzonspor on loan during the 2023-24 campaign before sealing a permanent move at the start of the current season, is now targeting a personal milestone.

Despite already scoring against major rivals Fenerbahçe and Beşiktaş, he is yet to net against Galatasaray and will be eager to complete that set.

Perekli also highlighted Onuachu's broader impact, describing him as the standout performer among Trabzonspor's attacking options. His form has not only dominated domestically but has also translated onto the European stage.

In 2026, Onuachu has scored 10 goals, placing him second among players in Europe's top 10 leagues. Only Harry Kane, with 12 goals, sits above him in the rankings.
