Phuti Mohafe eyes immediate return to management after shock Marumo Gallants exit

The former Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila assistant and caretaker coach parted ways with Polokwane City after three successful seasons to join Bahlabane Ba Ntwa.

He was, however, sacked just five games into the new season after failing to register a win.

Trevor Mathiane was brought in as interim boss before the appointment of Ronny Kanalelo as new head coach.

Speaking to FARPost, Mohafe explained that he is already in talks as he looks for a potential new position.

"I am still idling at home and making some contacts here and there. I don't know how long I will stay at home without a job," Mohafe said.

“I don't regret leaving Polokwane City. I took a risk, and the risk that I took didn't materialise into my perspective,” the coach added.

"Obviously, I had hoped for a longer stay, but it didn't happen. When you check the standard of the team, you look at Marumo now, and you look at the club last season, there is a huge difference.

“So I think it was too soon to pull the plug, but they were looking for instant results.”
