Rayan Ait-Nouri eyes more goals after Man City breakthrough

The Algerian defender opened the scoring after just nine minutes in Seoul, meeting Tijjani Reijnders' low cross before curling a right-footed finish into the net.

It was Ait-Nouri's first goal since joining City and he admitted he wants to become a more regular threat in front of goal.

"I would like to," Ait-Nouri said when asked if he wanted to score more often.

"It was my first goal for City and it's a part of the game I really enjoy. I have always tried to play in an attacking way, but I don't score all the time.

"It's a real sensation for me and I want to learn every day, work more and more to add as much to my game as I can."

The victory was Chelsea's first under Enzo Maresca in their second pre-season match, following a draw with Inter Milan the previous week.

Ait-Nouri also had to deal with difficult conditions in Seoul, where temperatures reached 36 degrees Celsius at kick-off.

Despite the heat, he was pleased with the experience and the amount of playing time City's squad received.

"To be honest, it was a tough game because the conditions were so different to Europe," he said.

"The weather was very hot but it was a great experience to play in a famous stadium in front of our Korean fans.

"We won, which is the most important thing and all of us got more time on the pitch."

City will finish their Asian tour against Atletico Madrid at Seoul's World Cup Stadium on Sunday.

The match will give Ait-Nouri and his team-mates another chance to test themselves against top European opposition before the competitive season begins.

"It will be a different game than the last two games," he said.

"We really enjoy playing this kind of game against one of the better teams in Europe, it will help us really prepare for next season.

"We know about Atletico's level and it will be good to play them before we face Arsenal next week."
