Real Madrid confirm Denzel Dumfries signing from Inter Milan

Los Blancos have wasted no time in the pre-season transfer window, with Dumfries becoming their fourth capture already, after the arrivals of Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate and Marc Cucurella.

The Dutch international joins from Inter Milan on a contract that will run until 2030 and is expected to provide competition at right back with Trent-Alexander Arnold.

Real announced the signing via an official statement on their website released on 5 July, which also revealed the length of the contract.

The 30-year-old arrives at the club with plenty of pedigree, having won several Serie A titles in his time at Inter Milan.

The fee Real Madrid paid for Dumfries has not been revealed but reports suggest he had a 25-million euro release clause in his contract which Los Blancos activated.

Dumfries impressed with the Netherlands at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, laying on a couple of assists and making plenty of marauding runs up the right wing.

The Netherlands topped their group and were looking impressive until a surprise defeat by Morocco ended their campaign prematurely.

The deal is believed to have been concluded some time ago but Real Madrid waited to announce it until after the Netherlands World Cup campaign was concluded at the request of the player.
