Report: Stellenbosch consider re-signing Ashley Du Preez from Kaizer Chiefs

The 28-year-old did not get regular game time at Kaizer Chiefs, managing just 12 appearances in all competitions, without scoring a single goal while registering only one assist.

With one year remaining on his current contract, his limited involvement and recurring minor injuries have pushed him towards considering an exit in the upcoming transfer window, according to iDiski Times.

During his first spell at Stellenbosch in the Cape Winelands, Du Preez established himself as one of the league's most dangerous attacking talents, recording 69 appearances, 13 goals and eight assists, while operating across both wings and in an advanced forward role - performances which also earned him senior national team recognition with Bafana Bafana.

Across four seasons at Kaizer Chiefs, he has amassed 96 appearances, scoring 19 goals and providing nine assists since a reported R10 million move from Stellenbosch, although his time at Chiefs has been marked by inconsistency and injury setbacks that have hampered his ability to replicate his earlier form.

Although contact has been made over a possible return, the attacker remains focused on the new coaching setup at Kaizer Chiefs, where he intends to fight for his place and reclaim a regular role in the squad for the upcoming season.
