Six Nations: Scotland thrill at Murrayfield to put half-century past France

The Scots put in one of their greatest performances under head coach Gregor Townsend, scoring seven tries in front of their rousing fans.

The home team however could not deny the French a try-scoring bonus point in the process and as a result it is Les Bleus who go into the final weekend top of the standings.

France and Scotland both have 16 points, but Les Blues have a better points difference (+79 versus +21) with Ireland a further two points adrift on 14.

The final round of fixtures takes place next Saturday when Ireland v Scotland at the Aviva Stadium, with France's match against England at the Stade de France in Paris.

This promised to be France's toughest task of the Championship and so it proved to be as Scotland held the upper hand for long periods and they eventually outscored their opponents by seven tries to six.

Darcy Graham and Kyle Steyn led the way with a brace apiece with Pierre Schoeman, Ben White and Tom Jordan also dotting down, while Finn Russell finished with a 15-point contribution after succeeding with six conversions and a penalty.

For France, Thomas Ramos scored 20 points courtesy of two tries and five conversions, while Louis Bielle-Biarrey, Theo Attissogbe, Antoine Dupont and Oscar Jegou scored their other five-pointers.
