South Africans overseas: Kwagga Smith bags brace in Blue Revs thriller

Smith started at eighth man and showed impressive stamina by playing the full 80 minutes in what was an all-action encounter from start to finish.

He made nine carries and gained around 50 metres for his side with ball in hand. He also contributed eight tackles in a solid defensive effort.

His first try came five minutes before half-time and was crucial to getting his side back into the game as they were 19 points behind before he scored.

Following a scrum on the Dynaboars' five-metre line, Smith showed great awareness to spot a tiny gap around the post just to the side of a ruck and he picked up the ball and dove over the line for a try.

After 11 phases of attacking the Dynaboars' line, the ball came to Smith running at the line with pace, and he managed to break through two would-be tacklers and bundle his way over the line.

Lukhanyo Am started at centre for the Dynaboars and had a relatively quiet game by comparison. He gained around 20 metres from four carries and chipped in with seven tackles on defence.

Cheslin Kolbe played fullback in the Suntory Sungoliath's 24-17 loss to the Honda Heat.

The Springbok speedster was entrusted with the kicking duties and contributed seven points to the total with two try conversions and a penalty.
