Stellenbosch announce player departures ahead of new Betway Premiership campaign

Making their exits are defenders Liam De Kock and Brian Onyango, along with reserve team captain Shaakir Ahmed, and Sihle Nduli, who has left to join Orlando Pirates.

A Stellies statement read: "Stellenbosch FC can confirm that defender Liam De Kock has left the club following the expiration of his contract.

"A product of Stellenbosch FC's reserve team programme, De Kock was part of the club’s squads that won the 2021/22 and 2023/24 DStv Diski Challenge titles.

"Everyone at Stellenbosch FC would like to thank Liam for his service to the club and wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter of his career."

The statement continued: "Former Stellenbosch FC reserve team captain Shaakir Ahmed has departed the club following the expiration of his contract.

"Everyone at Stellenbosch FC would like to thank Shaakir for his service to the club and wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter of his career."

A separate statement revealed: "Stellenbosch Football Club can confirm that Sihle Nduli has departed the Club upon the expiration of his contract.

"Nduli bids farewell after three seasons in Stellenbosch, where he made 104 appearances across all competitions during his spell in the Cape Winelands, becoming one of only 10 players to feature in more than a century of matches for the club."

Finally, the club posted: "Stellenbosch Football Club can confirm that Brian Onyango has departed the club following the expiration of his contract.

"Onyango joined Stellenbosch at the start of the 2024-25 campaign and made eight appearances across all competitions, helping the club reach the MTN8 final and qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup.

"Everyone at Stellenbosch FC would like to thank Brian for his service to the club and wish him well as he embarks on the next chapter of his career."
