Jose Riveiro: The match was beyond our capacity
Jose Riveiro was disappointed to lose his first game in charge of Al Ahly in the Club World Cup Group F encounter with Palmeiras on Thursday.
The Egyptian side will have to dig deep and win against Porto in order to stand any chance of advancing to the FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16.
The Red Devils currently lie bottom of the group with one point and will have to hope there is a winner in the other group clash between Palmeiras and Inter Miami, who are tied on four points.
"Of course, we are not happy because we lost, but we have another game and we hope we win and we can qualify," said Trezeguet to the FIFA website.
"The whole team will be better next game, for sure, because we came here to make something. And God willing, in the next game, we will fight to qualify."
Two defensive lapses in the second half clash against Brazilian side Palmeiras cost the Egyptian champions dearly following an equal opening half between the two sides.
Al Ahly are yet to score a goal in the tournament, but Trezeguet, who missed a penalty in the first match, is confident they can pull off a good result against Portuguese giants Porto.
"Porto are a big team, a strong team, and also we are a big team, and we are strong, and we will fight," added the former Aston Villa forward.
"It was not our day today, but I hope in the next game that we will win."
The 12-time CAF Champions League winners will face Porto at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey next Tuesday.
