The win sees Amajita advance to the semifinals of the continental competition, and with that, secure one of the four coveted African slots for the 2025 World Cup. The decisive goal came in the 109th minute when Thabang Mahlangu calmly converted a low cross from Shakeel April, sending South Africa through in dramatic fashion.

South African Football Association (SAFA) president Danny Jordaan commended the team's effort and growing momentum in youth development.
