Chasing a herculean target of 250, Hope smashed 102 not out from 45 balls and received good support from Sherfane Rutherford, 84 off 37 deliveries, while Romario Shepherd provided the finishing touches with an unbeaten 34 from 13 balls.

The Windies chase started in disastrous fashion when they lost Kamil Pooran and Shimron Hetmyer in the first over from seamer Mayank Yadav to be 5-2, but remarkably still managed pull off victory with nine balls to spare.

Hope's brilliant knock included six fours and nine sixes as the visiting skipper peppered the boundary at the JSCA International Stadium.

Earlier, India had reached a total of 249-5 in their 20 overs in Ranchi with opener Sanju Samson top-scoring with 82 from 41 balls.

The innings was supplemented with further knocks from Ishan Kishan, 43 from 22, captain Shreyas Iyer, 40 from 18, and Tilak Varma with 44 not out off 18 deliveries.

West Indies spinner was by far the best bowler on show in the game, the spinner only conceding 24 runs in his four overs while taking three wickets.
