Abdeslam Ouaddou: Sihle Nduli back in training for Orlando Pirates

Abdeslam Ouaddou: Sihle Nduli back in training for Orlando Pirates

The 30-year-old suffered a grade-three ankle ligament tear following a challenge from AmaZulu striker Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya.

The setback came shortly after Nduli had returned from a lengthy injury absence, making the latest problem a major blow both physically and mentally.

He was originally expected to spend around four months on the sidelines, but the midfielder has resumed work on the pitch after just five weeks.

Nduli was among the players pictured during an open Pirates training session, although his workload remains limited.

The midfielder was restricted to light running and did not take part in shooting drills or other demanding exercises. Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou explained that Nduli's programme is being managed in line with recommendations from the club's medical staff.

Evidence Makgopa, Thalente Mbatha, Mohau Nkota, Makhaleni Makhaula and Kabelo Dlamini were also involved in full training. However, it remains unclear whether any of the players will be available for selection in the MTN8 final.

"Sihle, we're happy to see him back on the pitch, in the process of rehab, soon you will be able to see him," Ouaddou said.

"He needs a couple of weeks but the good news is step by step he is coming back to the pitch."
