Allan Freese confirms Magesi approach amid uncertainty over John Maduka's future

Magesi were promoted to the Betway Premiership as Motsepe Foundation Championship winners in the 2023/24 season.

They secured their top-flight status with a 13th placed finish last term, ending just four points above the relegation/promotion play-off place.

This season though the club are rooted to the bottom of the standings with just two wins from their opening 15 matches.

The experienced former Royal Eagles and Highlands Park mentor explained that while he has been contacted by Magesi, he is still waiting for the club to follow up on their interest.

Freese confirmed the news to KickOff, saying: "Yes, but I'm not there at the moment yet. I'm not sure if there's a race for the job, they just spoke to me and they need to come back to me," says Freese. "So, I'm waiting."

“Ja, there's an interest, so I'm waiting for them now. There are other people who can be interested in the job, this is football anyway," Freese added.

"They just phoned me to ask how things are and what's happening, so there was nothing concrete spoken. In football, you must wait until there's something concrete.

"We will see what's happening and what is on the table if they do speak to me again, and then we will take it from there,” he added, while also giving an update on his current job.

"At the moment, I was coaching in the development in Rustenburg, and I think I was doing really well for the team that I was working for. The people were very happy about my progress there."
