Argentina hit by injury crisis as Felipe Contepomi hails 'brilliant' Feinberg-Mngomezulu

Replacements Gonzalo Bertranou and Nicolas Roger have been called up and will join the Pumas in London ahead of the clash.

Albornoz, who had only recently recovered from a hand injury, scored off the bench in last week's 67-30 defeat to the Boks in Durban. Unfortunately, the 26-year-old has suffered a new injury and will be unavailable on Saturday.

Garcia is also sidelined after a heavy collision with teammate Guido Petti left him concussed during the final stages at King's Park.

The timing of these setbacks could hardly be worse for Argentina, already eliminated from contention, as the Springboks approach the Twickenham showdown with the championship on the line.

South Africa tops the standings following consecutive dominant wins over the All Blacks and Pumas, leaving Rassie Erasmus' side strong favourites to clinch the title against an injury-hit Argentina still smarting from their Durban defeat.

Meanwhile, Argentina coach Felipe Contepomi admitted his side were powerless to stop Sacha Feinberg-Mngomezulu's heroics at Kings Park.

The flyhalf scored three tries as he masterminded the Boks' emphatic 67-30 victory and even Contepomi had to admire what he saw.

"I don't know much about the statistics, but it's very obvious that he's a brilliant player," Contepomi said.

"When you're the coach of the opposition team, you don't want Sacha to play. But from the rugby fans' perspective, he's one of those guys who adds some flair and glamour to the game."

Contepomi backed his to respond in Twickenham despite the setbacks they've suffered.

"I'd like to think that we can fight harder," he said. "I regard the players' spirit and hard work highly and they work really hard in the week. We obviously couldn't show that on the field, but I remain proud of the players for the hard work they put in week after week.

"The nice thing about sport is that you get another chance. Ours is in less than a week, and we'll be well prepared for it."
