Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Slot admitted Liverpool must respond after recent defeats in both the league and Europe.
"We have a point to prove," Slot said. "The last game in the league we lost and the last game in the Champions League we lost. Playing again at Anfield in front of our own fans is always special and something we look forward to."
The Dutch coach said expectations at Liverpool never change, regardless of their opponents.
"At this club every home game comes with the expectation to win," he explained. "It doesn't matter if we play Tottenham, Manchester City or Arsenal. The history of this club shows we win a lot of games here and we embrace those expectations."
Slot also addressed Liverpool's recent struggles in front of goal following their European defeat away to Galatasaray.
"In the first 15 or 20 minutes we created three or four moments where we should have scored," he said. "But conceding from a set-piece completely changed the momentum of the game.
"We've struggled with converting our chances this season, and at the same time we concede from the few chances we allow. As long as that continues, games will remain difficult."
The Liverpool boss also provided a key fitness update ahead of the Spurs clash, confirming that Alisson Becker and Federico Chiesa are continuing their recovery programmes, while Alexander Isak has also been monitored after recent fitness concerns.
Slot said Liverpool's focus for the remainder of the season is to ensure every player reaches their highest level.
"My aim is that every player gets the maximum out of every training session and every game until the end of the season," he explained. "Margins at this level are very small, so we must fight every day to make those margins work for us."
With three games scheduled in seven days, Slot confirmed young forward Rio Ngumoha could play a bigger role in the coming weeks.
"Rio is a player who could start for us," Slot said. "We've managed him carefully because players of that age can suffer stress injuries if they play too much, but he is definitely an option."
Liverpool face Tottenham before travelling to Brighton in what Slot described as a demanding but important run of matches.
"With this schedule you need more than 11 players," he added. "Everyone must be ready."
