Arsenal complete signing of England winger Noni Madueke from Chelsea

The 23-year-old winger left Chelsea's squad at the FIFA Club World Cup in the United States ahead of last weekend's final to complete the move. He has signed a five-year contract at the Emirates Stadium, with the total fee potentially rising above 50 million pounds through add-ons.

Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for 30 million pounds. He made 92 appearances in all competitions, scoring 20 goals, and played a key role in the club's UEFA Conference League triumph last season.

Before moving to the Netherlands, Madueke spent time in the academies of Crystal Palace and Tottenham Hotspur. He won the KNVB Cup during his four-and-a-half-year spell at PSV.

He made his senior debut for England in August 2024 and registered an assist for Harry Kane in a 1-0 World Cup qualifying win over Andorra last month.

Madueke becomes Arsenal's fourth signing of the summer and the second from Chelsea following the arrival of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

"We're delighted to announce that England international Noni Madueke has joined us on a long-term contract. The 23-year-old, north London-born forward joins us from Chelsea, where he made 92 appearances in all competitions," read a statement on the Gunners' official website.

Midfielders Christian Norgaard from Brentford and Martín Zubimendi from Real Sociedad have also joined the Gunners, which is also close to deals for Sporting striker Viktor Gyokeres and Valencia defender Cristhian Mosquera.

Madueke, in a statement posted on social media, thanked Chelsea for their support during his time at the club and even the "criticism".

"To every staff member that helped me along this journey, thank you. To my teammates — thank you for everything. I leave with only love and admiration for you guys," he wrote.

"To Enzo Maresca, it was a privilege to play under you. Thank you for trying to better me as a player and as a person. Lastly, thank you to every single Chelsea fan. Thank you for the love, the praise, and also the criticism. I leave here with nothing but fond memories."
