Arsenal confirm signing Christian Norgaard from Brentford

The 31-year-old, known for his leadership and tactical nous, has joined the Gunners in a move that signals their intent to compete at the highest level.

Norgaard, who made 196 appearances for Brentford, including 122 in the Premier League, scored 13 goals and provided 18 assists during his time with the Bees.

His standout 2023/24 season saw him net a career-high six goals from defensive midfield while captaining Brentford through a historic period, including their promotion to the Premier League in 2021 after a 74-year absence.

The midfielder's journey began at Lyngby in Denmark, where he debuted for the first team at 17. A brief stint at Hamburg followed before he returned to Denmark with Brondby in 2013. There, Norgaard established himself as a key figure, earning the Player of the Year award in 2017 and helping Brondby win the Danish Cup in 2017/18. He made 147 appearances, scoring 12 goals and adding nine assists.

In 2018, Norgaard moved to Fiorentina in Serie A before joining Brentford in 2019.On the international stage, Norgaard has earned 35 caps for Denmark since his debut against England in 2020. His experience and versatility make him a valuable addition to Arsenal's squad.
