AS FAR clinch CAF Champions League spot as Wydad and Raja secure continental berths

Despite a cagey first half, the visitors found their rhythm after the break. Khalid Ait Ourkhan opened the scoring in the 57th minute, before Abdelfattah Hadraf and Hicham Bousfiane added quick goals in the 60th and 79th minutes to put the result beyond doubt.

The win secured AS FAR a runners-up finish with 57 points, three ahead of Wydad Casablanca, morrocoworldnews.com reported.

Wydad, who wrapped up their season with a 2-0 victory over Nahdat Zemamra, will now shift their focus to the CAF Confederation Cup.

At the Mohammed V Stadium, Wydad made an early statement through Mohamed El Raheyi's 12th-minute penalty. Star forward Mayele Mailula doubled the lead just before halftime, converting a well-worked assist from Obing. The result saw Wydad close their campaign in third place on 54 points.

Zemamra, meanwhile, ended their impressive season in fifth with 47 points.

Raja Casablanca had already secured their place in the CAF Confederation Cup after lifting the Throne Cup with a 2-1 win over AS FAR in the final, guaranteeing Morocco three clubs in continental competition next season.

Hassania Agadir's defeat capped a disappointing league run, finishing 13th with just 29 points. They now face a fight for survival in the upcoming relegation playoffs.

With AS FAR returning to Africa's premier club competition and both Casablanca giants preparing for CAF campaigns, Moroccan clubs will look to make their mark on the continental stage next season.
