Bastian Schweinsteiger: Vincent Kompany doing a 'fantastic job' with Bayern

Bastian Schweinsteiger: Vincent Kompany doing a 'fantastic job' with Bayern

Speaking to Sport-Informations-Dienst, the former midfielder praised the manager's impact, noting how quickly he has imposed his philosophy despite early doubts over his appointment.

Kompany, who replaced Thomas Tuchel, arrived with a mixed managerial track record that included a promotion and relegation with Burnley, as well as a spell at Anderlecht.

However, his pedigree as a title-winning player with Manchester City has been viewed as a key strength - and that belief is now being justified on the pitch.

Bayern have already secured the Bundesliga title, while also reaching the DFB-Pokal final and advancing to the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League. Having opened their season in the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, they have maintained momentum across all competitions.

Their domestic campaign has been particularly emphatic, with over 115 league goals scored through a free-flowing, possession-based and expansive system. Although recent matches have seen a slight uptick in goals conceded, overall performance levels remain high.

"I think he's doing a fantastic job of not only dealing with and talking to the team, but also how he brings it to the public," Schweinsteiger explained via Tz.

"Of courses Kompany still needs success, If you don't have it, then it's difficult."
