Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface keeps his promise with elaborate goal celebration

Martin Terrier opened the scoring for Leverkusen at the Rhein-Neckar Arena after just 17 minutes.

Boniface doubled his side's lead with 30 minutes on the clock before Mergim Berisha pulled a goal back for the home team after 37 minutes.

Florian Wirtz restored Leverkusen's two-goal lead with a 72nd minute penalty before Boniface secured the Bundesliga win with his second goal of the night with 15 minutes of the match remaining.

The result left Leverkusen in fifth place on the league standings with six points from three games, and Hoffenheim down in 12 with three points.

After scoring his second goal, Boniface pulled down his pants and performed a dance on the touchline with white cycling shorts exposed.

The Nigerian told Sky Sports: "I didn't want to provoke anyone with it. I only did it in front of our own fans. It's a TikTok trend from a Nigerian influencer, and he's a big influencer. He asked me if I could do it, and I told him: no problem.

"I would have done it in the first two games, but I hadn't scored a goal yet. And when I did score, it was time to keep my promise."
