Fezile Gcaba completes permanent switch to Durban City - reports

The 27-year-old former Orlando Pirates midfielder is currently contracted to Richards Bay but was shipped out on loan for the 2025/26 Betway Premiership season.

He made 27 appearances across all competitions and was first choice for all three of the club's coaches last season, namely Gavin Hunt, Sinethemba Badela and interim coach Pitso Dladla, who has since departed the club.

According to iDiski Times: "Durban City have completed the signing of highly-rated defender Fezile Gcaba permanently.

"The 27-year-old joined the club from Richards Bay at the beginning of the previous campaign on a season-long loan deal.

"He also played a pivotal role in the club’s Nedbank Cup triumph, which culminated in a victory over TS Galaxy in the final in May.

“His standout performances did not go unnoticed as in November, Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos named him in the preliminary squad for the AFCON tournament that took place in Morocco earlier this year.”
